The captain hit an unbeaten 84 against Hampshire Academy as Havant collected their fourth successive win to take the title race down to the final weekend.

Havant will finish top if they triumph at Sarisbury and St Cross 2nds, who have led the table all season, lose to Rowledge.

St Cross could recall Hampshire pair Felix Organ and Harry Came if the pair are not required by their county.

Electing to bat first, the Academy posted 209-4 at Havant Park.

Opener Tom Prest continued his fine form with 86 - his third SPL East half-century to go alongside his 129 against Sparsholt.

He was finally out when he dashed down the pitch against Morgan, only to be stumped by Jeremy Bulled.

Morgan and Bulled would later team up for Havant’s match-winning partnership.

The hosts were 159-5 when Bulled walked out to join his captain in the middle.

Morgan went on to hit 11 boundaries in his 76-ball innings, while Bulled was 23 not out off 27 deliveries as Havant won off the first ball of the last over.

Richard Hindley had earlier hit 43, his top score of the truncated summer.

A 15-year old schoolboy off-spinner making his Premier League debut for Rowledge brought about Sarisbury Athletic’s demise at Church Road.

Left-hand opener Sam Floyd (49) and Jordan Wright (45) eased the visitors to 100-1, but Ryan Littlewood had Wright stumped and then clean bowled Floyd.

Soon after he removed the prolific Josh Hill as Sarisbury sagged to 111-4.

Bowling in tandem with the experienced David Lloyd (3-23), Littlewood finished with 5-23 as Sarisbury collapsed to 149 all out.

Jonty Sebborn (33) and Jake Wish (18) gave Rowledge a 52-run start before Rob Franklin (4-24) and Sam Hill (2-24) checked their progress.

But Lloyd (41) reappeared to steady the ship before a mini-wobble saw three more wickets fall for 11 runs.

It was left to Ethan Martin, another promising prospect coming off the Rowledge conveyor belt, to hit 17 not out and see his side to a three-wicket win.
