Charlotte in the medals as Locks Heath compete in 2020 County Swimming Championships

Charlotte Aris was in the medals when Locks Heath Swim Squad competed in the 2020 Hampshire County Championships.

The club fielded 12 teams in the relay events at Portsmouth where Aris, Sophie Bagby, Ruby

Goddard and Daisy Smith won bronze in the Girls 10-12 years 4x50m Freestyle and Medley relays.

Six Locks Heath swimmers qualified to swim in 39 individual events at Waterlooville and between them qualified for 13 finals.

Aris, 11, collected individual silver in 100m Butterfly, 200m Butterfly and 100m Backstroke as well as bronze in 50m Butterfly.

She also finished fourth in 100m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke and seventh in 50m Freestyle.

Other finalists were 11-year-old Daisy Smith (4th 50m Backstroke, 8th 50m Freestyle and 8th 100m Freestyle), 10-year-old Ruby Goddard (4th 50m and 100m Backstroke),10-year-old Asher Fletcher (6th 50m Freestyle) and 10-year-old Finley Taplin (7th 50 Breaststroke).

Toby Ellis, 12, also competed in two individual events and was placed 10 th and 13 th .

Head Coach Lynda Reid said: ‘Locks Heath have had a great County Championships. All the swimmers excelled themselves in the relay and individual events which resulted in a high percentage of personal best times.’
