Could coronavirus outbreak scupper Waterlooville A and Craneswater Z's Portsmouth Snooker League title battle?

Waterlooville A returned to action with a comfortable 9-3 win at Craneswater Z that took them back to the top of the Portsmouth League.

The victory gives them a four-point lead over serial champions Craneswater A in the race for the title but proceedings have now been suspended because of the coronavirus.

Captain Dusty Tingley gave the Aston Road gang a great start then Richie Burnett knocked in a couple of 30s only to be pegged back by Mark Jones.

Phil Watson won his with a 33 break thrown in before rising star Jamie Wilson put the icing on the cake with a 38 and 34.

Nick Fegan stole the show as Emsworth A won 9-3 at Cowplain Z.

Greg Harding started the ball rolling with a break of 38 to see off Steve Hughes then Wayne Brenchley got the better of the evergreen Frank Baxter.

Fegan arrived right on cue with visits of 49, 36, 32 and 30 to leave Trevor Powell in his chair.

Copnor A & E did not need treatment after an away fixture as they posted a fine 8-4 victory at Bellair A.
