Field hits hat-trick as leaders Fareham embark on first-half goal spree

Fareham ladies bounced back from their derby loss to Havant to produce a first-half goal burst against Haslemere.

They belted six goals in the opening half en route to a 7-2 victory that preserved a one-point lead at the top of South Women's League Division 3B.

Fareham led 3-0 inside 12 minutes through Laura Pendleton, Vicky Field and Lydia Jackson before Hannah Enticknap got Haslemere on the board from a penalty corner.

Georgia Collins, Sian Edwards and Field then took the game way beyond the visitors’ reach by half-time

Field completed her treble with Fareham’s only goal after the break, with Hannah Gribble bagging a late consolation.

Havant remain three points adrift of their Hampshire rivals in third place after a 2-1 victory at Horsham.
