Shrubsole has also been nominated for the decade’s Spirit of Cricket award.

That was after she won the ICC’s Spirit award in 2018 for her reaction to England’s World Cup semi-final win over South Africa the previous summer. Having hit the winning runs at Bristol, Shrubsole immediately went to comfort distraught Proteas captain Dane van Niekerk.

The only male player to be nominated for any award with Hampshire connections is spinner Imran Tahir. He is on the shortlist for the men’s T20 International award.
