New ball bowler Jon Hudson dismissed skipper Lee Harrop (10) and No 3 Scott Taylor before Matt Cook caught and bowled Ollie Creal (10) to leave Gosport 29-3.

Goddard ripped out the middle order as the hosts – minus the injured Mark Toogood, who had top scored in their previous two games - collapsed to 41-7. In the end, extras (24) easily top scored, including 17 wides.

Waterlooville’s reply started badly, Charlie Pennicott bowling Hudson for a duck. And it was 3-2 when Archie Reynolds was caught by Harrop off Creal.

Waterlooville were 29-4 when Goddard marched out to join Matt Shaw in the middle.

Goddard promptly hit nine fours and a six in a 36-ball unbeaten 45, and with Shaw 27 not out the visitors easily won.
