Vince shared an unbroken fourth wicket stand of 71 in 7.4 overs with Jordan Silk (38 not out) as the Sixers returned to the top of the group table with a seven-wicket victory at The Cararra Oval.

The only five English-qualified players with more T20 runs are Luke Wright (7,999), Alex Hales (7,581), Ravi Bopara (7,276), Eoin Morgan (6,879) and Jos Buttler (6,327).

Vince is the 40th player in history to pass the 6,000-run T20 milestone.

The all-time chart is headed by the remarkable Chris Gayle, whose career total of 13,584 includes 22 centuries. No other player has ever reached double figures in terms of T20 tons.

Of Vince’s 6,014 runs, 3,930 of them have been scored for Hampshire at an average of 31.95.

That is easily the highest haul in his county’s history - next highest is Michael Carberry with 3,066.
