The Hampshire skipper struck 52 off 35 balls, with five fours and a six, as the table-topping Sixers defeated Perth Scorchers by seven wickets with seven balls remaining.

Vince shared a 106-run stand in 11.2 overs with man of the match Josh Philippe as the defending champions cruised past Perth’s 163-7 total.

It was Vince’s second highest score of the tournament, having scored 67 against the Hobart Hurricanes last month.

England pair Liam Livingstone (67) and Jason Roy (21) had put on 76 for the first Scorchers wicket in 7.1 overs before Sixers hit back.

Vince’s Ageas Bowl colleague Kyle Abbott hasn’t had such good luck, though.

The pace bowler was hoping to return to match fitness by playing for the Titans in the South African one-day Momentum Cup series.

But two of the Titans’ three group matches were washed out by bad weather without a ball being bowled.
