Hampshire’s home has been chosen to stage the final game of a three-match T20 series with Sri Lanka on Saturday, June 26.

The first two games will take place in Cardiff.

Last year The Ageas Bowl was chosen as one of the ECB’s two ‘bio secure’ stadiums to host England fixtures - staging three Tests, three ODIs and three T20 internationals.

Sri Lanka have twice played a T20 international at The Ageas Bowl.

In 2006 they won by just two runs - despite Marcus Trescothick top scoring with 72 for the hosts before he was run out - and in 2006 they were thrashed by eight wickets.

Jos Buttler (73no) and skipper Eoin Morgan (47no) ensured England raced to victory after the tourists had been bowled out for 140.

Since opening in 2001, The Ageas Bowl has hosted six Tests, 31 ODIs and eight T20 internationals. It has also staged four women’s T20 internationals and two women’s ODIs.
