Havant potter Jamie Wilson goes in search of maiden main snooker tour win in Scottish Open

The Havant potter has been handed a tough draw, though, as he faces English world number 38 Martin O'Donnell in the first round of the competition.

Wilson, 17, turned professional earlier this year after gaining a main tour card through Q School.

The former Park Community Community School pupil is still raw and in his early days on the professional circuit.

So far, the teenage prospect has only played eight matches on the tour with his first coming in September.

Yet, he did manage a 2-2 draw in a Championship League group stage meeting with world top-10 player Mark Allen.

Wilson was beaten 6-1 by the Northern Irishman in the UK Championship in his last competition last month.

The young gun has been training at former professional Stephen Lee’s academy as he looks to establish himself on the main tour.
