The Havant-based 18-year-old has now climbed to number 21 in the world rankings despite missing most of last season.

White lost her opening round-robin match 2-0 to Londoner Emma Parker.

But both frames against the world number seven went to the last few colours.

White was up against it after going 1-0 down to Belgian Melissa Eens in her next match.

However, she came back from needing a snooker in the decider to clinch a crucial 2-1 victory.

Decisive 2-0 successes over Carine Caron, from Belgium, and Northern Ireland’s Andrea McAlister followed to earn White the runner-up spot in the group.

Unfortunately, she drew Parker again in the last-16 knockout and went down 3-0.

‘I didn’t feel as though I ever got my arm in,’ assessed White.

‘I was disappointed with how the match went as I felt as though I didn’t have the opportunity to give it my all.’

White also lost in the first rounds of the Challenge Cup and the under-21 event.

‘Overall, I am pleased the most with my performance in the main competition,’ added White.

‘I exceeded my expectations by progressing through my group, knowing that it was going to be tough.’

White is now looking forward to her next event on the World Women’s tour in Leeds in April.

Elsewhere, Jamie Wilson reached the quarter-finals for the first time in his debut season on the under-21 premier development tour.

The 16-year-old finished second in his round-robin group on the first day at Levels Snooker Club, Huddersfield.

Wilson then beat Liverpool’s Paul Deaville 3-1 in the last-32.

But his best result was battling back from 2-0 down and surviving a re-spotted black in the third frame to overcome Walsall's Jack Harris 3-2.

Wilson, who lost 3-0 to Brandon Hall in the last-eight, is a creditable 18th in the national junior rankings with one leg remaining.

Three days later, he recorded back-to-back centuries for the first time.

He made a 113 against Jake Sharp and added a 101 in his very next frame against champion-elect Samuel Laxton in the Wednesday Junior Snooker League title at Waterlooville Sports Bar.

Tyler ‘magic’ Mack potted a free ball and the last five colours for a personal best break of 28 against Chloe Hall in the Monday Junior Snooker League.

Meanwhile, Rhys Pearce maintained his seven-point lead in the Junior Pool League after a three-way tie with Harrison Heath and Keira Hiscock in the round-robin group.

World Snooker coach Tim Dunkley runs snooker sessions for under-19s from 4.30-6.30pm every Monday and Wednesday and junior pool sessions from 4.30-6.30pm every Thursday.
