Havant & Waterlooville bring in Horndean talent Benny Read and Jonah Ayunga returns as four new signings pen deals

New Hawks manager Paul Doswell has announced four new signings in his bid to strengthen the spine of his team for next season.

Goalkeeper Ross Warner, central-defender Anthony Straker, midfielder Benny Read and striker Jonah Ayunga have agreed deals.

They were announced at a meet the manager forum for the fans at Westleigh Park tonight.

Doswell has gone back to his previous club to get Warner and Ayunga who join ex-team-mate Dean Beckwith who was the Hawks first signing of the summer.

Warner, 29, made more than 100 appearances for Sutton after joining them in 2015.

Previously he played for Charlton Athletic, Aldershot Town and AFC Wimbledon.

Ayunga is a familiar face for the Hawks fans having impressed in a short loan spell for them last season.

Then manager Lee Bradbury was keen to keep him but he was recalled to Gander Green Lane.

Straker is a 30-year-old defender from Bath City who was named in the National League team of the year at the end of the season.

Read is an exciting youngprospect from Horndean who spent time on trial at Sheffield United last season.

He is highly-rated by Michael Birmingham his manager at Five Heads Park.
