And, regardless of the result against the Cheetahs, he believes the Dreadnoughts have had a successful campaign.

'That is what we aimed for this season,' Head-Rapson said.

'Last year it was reaching the play-offs, this year we knew we could go one step further and reach the final.

'I cannot say how proud I am of the team and everything we have achieved this year.

'Regardless of what happens this Sunday, this season has been a tremendous success.

'It's pretty incredible.'

The Dreadnoughts have played Hertfordshire twice already this season, winning at home and losing away.

The Cheetahs went on to win the SFC South division two title after having a better head-to-head record than the Dreadnoughts.

Head-Rapson is expecting another close game and insists his troops will have the bit between their teeth going into the battle.

He added: 'We have a lot to prove after the last game.

'˜I am eager to face them again.

'˜I know the players will be keen to show we are better than when we lost against them.

'They will also want to show they are the better team.

'˜It's a close one and I am really looking forward to it.'
