THE Portsmouth Triathlon will return in September.

There will be Olympic and sprint distance options.

Portsmouth Triathletes are promoting this event for the first time this year after taking it on from the council.

They are hosting it on Sunday, September 18 and have the support of Portsmouth University, Portsmouth City Council , British Triathlon Federation, DB Max and other companies in the area.

Registration takes place from 6.30am to 7.50am.

The sea swim waves start from 8am.

Competitors should be open water experienced and able to navigate and swim across a light tide.

The bike course has changed to be seafront loops.

Then the run course will be four (Olympic) or two (sprint) laps.

This is a great race for spectators to cheer on the competitors as they swim, cycle and run to complete the popular challenge.
