Skipper Allen opened the scoring against the title hopefuls with a fine finish in the first half.

The Barncroft Way hosts worked tirelessly to hold on to that advantage until Tyrell deflected home a second to relieve the tension during a nervy finale.

Havant’s second win of the campaign saw them take a share of seventh place.

Meanwhile, the club’s men’s first team hammered Banbury 8-0 in South League premier division one.

Havant, who sit second in the table behind Bromley & Beckenham, opened the scoring in the eighth minute when James Speke finished a well-worked move.

James Evans linked with Borja Meissner, who set up Ollie Nail to make it 2-0 in the 21st minute.

Meissner went close himself before teeing up James Lester for Havant’s third.

Two further goals capped a superb half, with Adam Seccull grabbing both courtesy of fine finishes from penalty corners.

A scrappy start to the second half also saw Havant’s James Harper limp off with a knee injury.

Mo Lester then suffered a calf strain as the visitors were forced to reshuffle their defence – with versatile Indy Laly filling in at the back.

Seventeen-year-old Tomek Bruml picked out Nail with a great crossfield pass and he delivered for Meissner to deflect home Havant’s sixth.

A fantastic strike from Mike Deller-Merricks made it 7-0 before Meissner capped the win following good work by Connor McLaughlan.
