The 2013 Perfs Pedal winner, who was third behind his ONE Pro Cycling team-mate Yanto Barker in the Portsmouth road race last season, claimed the jersey with a powerful display in the break on stage two.

And the Polish time trial champion was not overhauled in yesterday’s penultimate stage, which was won by Movistar’s Juan Jose Lobato.

Chris Opie, runner-up in the Perfs Pedal last term and champion in 2012, is ONE’s best-placed rider in the Dubai Tour’s general classification.

He is 26th, 56 seconds adrift of new leader Giacomo Nizzolo ahead of today’s finale at Burj Khalifa.

The 2016 Perfs Pedal takes place on Sunday, February 14 and features five ascents of Portsdown Hill before finishing at Hundred Acre Wood.

Meanwhile, Dani King helped her Wiggle High5 team-mate Chloe Hosking to victory in the fourth and final stage of the Ladies’ Tour of Qatar.

The former i-Team rider finished 68th overall as German Trixi Worrack took the title for Canyon SRAM Racing.

Amy Pieters was Wiggle’s highest finisher as she claimed sixth spot at 53 seconds.
