Purbrook Ladies 5 is a five-star show

THE Purbrook Ladies 5 was a big community success on Sunday.

Hosts Portsmouth Joggers received great support from club members across the area, including Gosport Road Runners and Hatch Warren.

Many runners completed the event for the first time, while other clubs like Fareham Crusaders, Liss and Hedge End were well represented.

Jackie Lloyd, of Havant-based club Victory AC, finished first in 34min 10sec and 206 ladies completed the five-mile race.

Run director Claire Fleming said: ‘We had some amazing running, lots of smiles, and so much positive feedback about all of the wonderful marshals.

‘Huge thank you to all runners, supporters and especially every marshal.’
