The 14-year-old City of Portsmouth athlete kicked clear of defending series champion Peter Concannon who had to be content with second place (15.42).

Zablocki’s training partner James Baker finished third (15.59).

City duo Emma Montiel (18.06) and youngster Nicole Ainsworth (18.17) finished second and third.

Each athlete will have their three best races count towards the series with two more events to follow after tonight.

Monks is looking in a strong position with wins in the two races so far.

She won the first event in April in 17.44 with Stubbington’s Jen Elkins second in 18.11.

With second and third place finishes under his belt so far Concannon just holds the edge in the men’s series.
