Tom Cannon is aiming to hit his rivals for six at Fontwell on Boxing Day.

The West Sussex-based jockey has been booked to ride half-a-dozen contenders on the track’s festive card.

And he will be confident of hitting the target at the course where he has become a firm fans’ favourite.

Cannon kicks off his day on Poetic Justice in the Juvenile Hurdle (12.20pm).

He will then partner Tambura in the Southern Cranes & Access Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle (12.55pm).

Tambura put a couple of poor efforts behind her when notching back-to-back bumper wins this season.

Former winners Miss Sophierose, Rhythm Star and Meetmeatthemoon will not give the Tamure filly an easy ride on her hurdles debut, though.

Cannon’s afternoon continues aboard the 110-rated Very Noble in the Auntie Bill And Auntie Pam Handicap Hurdle (1.30pm).

Like Poetic Justice, Very Noble is trained by Morestead’s Chris Gordon.

Cannon then joins forces with trainer Brendan Powell to ride Julie Prince in the Ward-Thomas Master Removers Handicap Chase (2.05pm).

And Don Cantillon’s Trucker’s Darling is his hope in the Happy 60th Birthday Peter Bomphrey Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (2.45pm).

The jockey will then sign off with the 81-rated Caspian Piper in the 32Red On The App Store Handicap Chase (3.20pm).

Cannon can then sit back and relax in front of the final race – the Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle (3.50pm).
