Adam Waterworth has lauded the major sponsorship deal struck between Goodwood and QIPCO Holding.
The Sussex Stakes sponsor this week penned a new deal to extend its support of the Group 1 contest for a further five years.
After backing the blue riband event of the Glorious Goodwood festival for the first time last summer, QIPCO are happy to press on until at least 2017.
The Sussex Stakes is one of three races at the West Sussex track – the others being the Goodwood Cup and Nassau Stakes – which are included in the QIPCO British Champions Series.
And the Goodwood managing director is delighted with the partnership.
Waterworth said: ‘The new agreement is excellent news as continuity of sponsorship is beneficial for both Goodwood and QIPCO.
‘The world’s best horse, Frankel, won the first running of the Sussex Stakes under the QIPCO banner last year.
‘And he is set to line up again next week, so there could not have been a better start to the sponsorship.
‘Glorious Goodwood next week features three races involved in the QIPCO British Champions Series which goes from strength to strength.
‘And we are delighted QIPCO is also supporting the British Champions Series for another five years on top of the original two-year agreement.’
On behalf of QIPCO, David Redvers added: ‘Goodwood epitomises all the best qualities of British Racing and consequently it is a perfect fit for QIPCO Holding’s increasing involvement with the sport.
‘We very much look forward to seeing Frankel again in this year’s running.
‘We are blessed to have a horse of his stature returning to defend his crown.’
The Sussex Stakes will go to post next Wednesday – day two of the five-day Glorious festival.
The meeting begins on Tuesday, with the Group 2 Lennox Stakes taking centre stage.
And the fillies get their chance to shine in the Nassau Stakes as the festival comes to a close a week on Saturday.
