Home draw would be nice reward for Moneyfields after FA Cup win at Hayes & Yeading

A Felipe Barcelos' goal 14 minutes from the end secured the visitors' place in the next round.

The win earned the club £9,000, making it £18,000 in all so far from the competition this season.

It has been a such a big boost and they will now be looking out to see what is next for them.

Boss Dave Carter said: '˜This is a great result for the club.

'˜All eyes are now on Monday's draw for the next round.

'˜First and foremost we would love another home draw.

'˜We would fancy ourselves being competitive against anyone at Dover Road.

'˜All the players bought into our game-plan at Hayes and executed it to the letter.

'˜Hayes are a good side and we knew we had to soak up a lot of pressure.

'˜Both teams had spells of attacking and we deserved the win in the end.

'˜It is even better because two of our most experienced players, Brett Poate and Lewis Fennemore, were away at a wedding.'

In the early stages Dan Woodward went close for the visitors with a couple of shots.

On 35 minutes Moneyfields keeper Steve Mowthorpe pulled off a good low save to ensure the first half ended goalless.

Carter added: '˜At the break we agreed our priority was keeping a clean sheet.'

The game continued in the same vein after the break before Barcelos struck for the decisive goal.

Lloyd Rowlatt beat his man in midfield and fed the ball to Joe Briggs.

Briggs slipped a pass inside to his Brazilian strike-partner who fired his shot into the top corner via the inside of the post.

Carter admitted Moneyfields then had to be even more dogged.

He added: '˜Not surprisingly Hayes threw the kitchen sink at us after that.

'˜It was backs to the wall stuff but we showed great resilience to keep them out.'

Mowthorpe pulled off another good save to keep out a Scott Donnelly volley and Jake Raine also cleared off the line from a corner.

Chances also fell to the visitors in the hectic finale.

Briggs went clean through but missed out on a one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Dan Wooden also headed against the crossbar.

In the end the visitors held on to progress.
