Lee Bradbury: No fear for Chesterfield trip '“ Hawks fired up to start key run of three games with a win

Two successive home wins have lifted the Westleigh Park side out of the bottom four on goal difference.

The Hawks boss accepts his team are facing a crucial couple of weeks in their bid to climb away from the danger zone.

But they can take a lot of heart from what they have done recently.

Chesterfield have appointed Martin Allen as manager and he will be looking to lift the club up the table as well.

The Hawks remain confident, though, and can see the chance to propel themselves away from danger in the coming weeks.

He said: '˜We have three massive games ahead of us starting at Chesterfield.

'˜After that we are at home against Maidstone and away at Dagenham & Redbridge.

'˜They are all teams in and around us in the league.

'˜Every game is important but these are a huge nine points up for grabs.

'˜Chesterfield were in the Football League last season and were expected to be at the top.

'˜So far they have struggled but with Martin Allen in charge we know it will be a tough game.

'˜He will have his players up for this one.

'˜Expectations are high at Chesterfield and we can possibly use that to our advantage.

'˜If we put them on the back foot and frustrate them then their fans are likely to get on their back.

'˜I don't see any reason why we can't go there and win.'

Wins against Maidenhead United and FC Halifax have lifted spirits at Westleigh Park.

Bradbury is convinced some of his younger players like Bradley Tarbuck and Alfie Rutherford are starting to get to grips at the higher level.

Tarbuck had his best game in a Hawks shirt against Halifax.

Rutherford has scored three goals in two games since being recalled from his loan spell at Eastbourne Borough.

The Hawks still have a number of players ruled out.

Injured duo Ed Harris and Mike Carter are still awaiting operations but there is better news elsewhere.

Wes Fogden, Ibra Sekajja and Theo Lewis are expected back in training in the next week.

Will Wood starts a three-game suspension after being sent off against FC Halifax.

Hawks were without a match last weekend so will be looking to come back firing.

The Hawks boss added: '˜The players have trained hard, they look sharp and hungry.

'˜We know it is a tough ask.

'˜Travelling up on the day isn't ideal because it is a long time on a coach but we have to go there believing we can put in another performance.

'˜It is important we aim for greater consistency both as individuals and as a team.

'˜We have shown we are 100-per-cent on it and that we can more than compete in this league.

'˜This is a big game and we need to pick up a point or three.

'˜It is all about getting another performance out of each other.'
