Long unbeaten run is the goal but Moneyfields warned to focus on Evesham mission

Dave Carter has warned Moneyfields not to take anything for granted as they host Evesham United in the Southern League division one south at Dover Road (3pm).

The Copnor side crushed Evesham 5-1 away from home in the FA Trophy at the end of last month.

Also Moneys have been in good form with the win at Blackfield & Langley boosting their position in the league with games in hand on the top five.

But boss Carter insists his side have to stay grounded for this game.

He said: '˜We can't afford to go into this game thinking it will be easy.

'˜Evesham will obviously be fired up after the last game and they are a top four side.

'˜We were superb in the win at Blackfield in midweek and must look to maintain our excellent work-rate.

'˜With the squad we have I believe we should be pushing for promotion.

'˜All our games so far have been against teams in the top half of the league.

'˜We have got ourselves into a decent position with games in hand.

'˜It is important we don't slip up because I want us to go on a long unbeaten run.

'˜Now we have four successive home games and must look to capitalise on that.'

Moneys are without experienced defender Sam Pearce who suffered concussion at Mangotsfield.

Curtis Da Costa is likely to continue in his place in the heart of the defence.

Carter also has doubts about the fitness of Joe Briggs, Lewis Fennemore and Dan Woodward.

Winger Matt Sim, who scored his first goal for the club last week, is expected to start.

The hosts also have full-back Rob Evans back from AFC Portchester.

The biggest plus for the home side is the return from suspension of striker Steve Hutchings.

He has shown in the last couple of games that he is regaining full fitness.

Carter added: '˜Steve had one of his best games ever for me at Blackfield..

'˜He is also showing signs of settling down.

'˜Hopefully he can put his disciplinary problems behind him.

'˜When he is in our team it makes such a difference to all the other players.'
