Gosport & Fareham have a chance to restore some pride as they host fellow London one south strugglers Beckenham at Gosport Park (3pm).

Coach Mark Wells was disappointed with the nature of his side’s 55-15 mauling at Cobham last week and is hoping for a response.

‘We let ourselves down at Cobham,’ said Wells.

‘There was a lack of individual desire to be competitive in the contact areas.

‘Our side is still young and progressing, though.’

Wells is backing Gosport & Fareham to survive this term after last season’s promotion and tomorrow is a game they are targeting to win.

Unbeaten United Services Portsmouth are expecting a severe examination at Millbrook in Hampshire one (3pm).

‘We lost at Millbrook last season so we have a score to settle,’ said coach Simon Burns.

‘There is now more strength in depth in our squad.

‘Millbrook on their own patch are never easy and will present us with a really physical challenge tomorrow.

‘It will be muck and bullets but we are up for it.

‘We want to maintain our winning habit.’

Prop-forward Mark Humberstone is away on a course but Stan Moyse makes a timely reappearance.

Bob Hoskins has a hamstring problem and is replaced by Tom Willoughby.

Petersfield travel to league leaders New Milton & District.

In Hampshire two, Southsea Nomads visit winless Chineham and Fareham Heathens cross the Solent to take on Ventnor.
