Injury-Hit Havant face a difficult afternoon as they take on the league’s highest points-scorers Hertford at Hooks Lane.
The visitors have racked up 604 points in 15 games and have only been beaten once all season.
Havant suffered a heavy defeat earlier in the season at Hertford, though director of rugby Adam King felt there were positives to be taken from it.
‘We competed well for 50 minutes but then lost a couple of key players and collapsed in the final half-hour,’ said King.
‘It is important we avoid a repeat of that.
‘This league gets harder every year in terms of the quality of players and coaching.
‘We know that realistically we have to be at full strength to have any chance against teams like Hertford.
‘But we have shown, like against Barnes at home, if we work hard and maintain the intensity we can be competitive.
‘The home faithful will expect nothing less than a hundred-per-cent effort.
‘As a young side, at times we need to show a little more belief, particularly when they find themselves up against the more illustrious opponents.
‘We need to repeat the intensity and passion we showed in our string of wins before Christmas.’
Havant are again forced to make a series of changes to their side, while they still have key, experienced players missing.
In the forwards there is the continued absence of Graeme Frith, Nick Whit-tle (shoulder) and Chris Thompson, who is away on sea trials.
The home side hope to be boosted by the return of experienced centre Richie Stenhouse after six weeks.
King is hoping the experienced New Zealander can come through a fitness test on his Achilles.
Stenhouse played higher-level rugby with Westcombe Park and Southland in New Zealand.
And his inclusion would bolster the side’s midfield, where Gavin Hart has moved back into the forwards.
Jarryd Robinson moves to full-back in place of the absent David Keyte and his brother Dan Robinson fills the wing berth.
‘Our survival will depend on how we do against the teams around us,’ said King.
‘On a positive note, we have picked up more bonus points than any other side outside the top four.
‘We must continue to try and pick up bonus points from every game.’
