Head Coach Mark Witcher was understandably proud and pleased with his team.

They did everything he asked of them on the field and having Charlie Morgan back in the team was a welcome boost.

He said: '˜All the coaching staff are delighted with the performance.

'˜It is pleasing to see all the things we worked on in training are coming to the fore on the pitch

'˜A big plus for us was having Charlie Morgan back at scrum half because we had four first choice players out with injury.'

The home side scored 10 tries without reply.

Outstanding number eight Sophy Roseaman got the first and created the second try breaking the defence for right wing Dani Burgess to score the first of her two tries.

Amy Dare drove through the visitors defence to make it 24-0 at half time.

A faultless performance from Charlie Morgan at scrum half and Suzanne Holbrook at fly half ensured Portsmouth backs saw plenty of the ball.

Left wing Bronwyn Jacobs ran in four tries and also managed to miss a try dropping the ball under the posts.

Portsmouth ran in six tries in the second half, while centre Chloe Stopard-Baker added a try to her six conversions.
