‘The players fully understand the situation we find ourselves in and what is expected of them.

‘Recent results have left us so close to relegation.

‘The two teams immediately below us have picked up improved results and both still have to play winless Warlingham.

‘That will almost guarantee them pointsm while we finish the season with three hard games.

‘We have already lost at home to KCS and they are a typical Old Boys team.

‘They have young players who possess good skills but we have to go there and impose our game on them.’

Portsmouth make one enforced change after prop forward Ryan Wilkie picked up a concussion playing for Hampshire against the Royal Navy.

Ian French comes in to take his place at tight-head prop.

In Hampshire One, seventh-placed Fareham Heathens travel to third-placed Fordingbridge looking for a big performance.

Centre Rob Impey says his team are in good heart despite being beaten at New Milton last week.

‘Spirits in the camp are high,’ said Impey.
