A RUGBY club will be replacing its equipment thanks to nearly £3,000 from a council’s community fund.

Fareham Heathens RFC was given £2,906 from Fareham Borough Council’s community funding programme.

The club, which plays at Cams Alders Recreation Centre, will replace equipment for its two senior teams, youth, colts and ladies’ teams.

Executive member for leisure Connie Hockley said: ‘With the Rugby World Cup in England this year, membership is likely to increase. It’s important that clubs have the resources to take advantage of increased enthusiasm.’
