United Services cruised into the next round of the Hampshire Gales HSB Plate with a convincing 59-15 win over Fareham Heathens at Cams Alders.
Super Services carried far too much fire power in their backs for the home side, with the three-quarters running in eight of the nine tries.
‘Our forwards were made to work hard by the Fareham Heathens pack but our quality in the three-quarters was too much for them,’ said manager Lee Bennett.
‘We scored in the first minute, in the last minute and at regular intervals throughout.
‘To be fair, Heathens gave a good account of themselves and continued to resist until the end.’
Centre Martin Hoskins gave Services the perfect start with a first-minute try after a flowing move that began in the Services own 22.
The visitors added four more tries before half-time through winger Alex Doolan, full-back Jack Brawn, outside-half Andy Webster and scrum-half Greg Irvine.
In the second half, centre Tom Willoughby got his name on the scoresheet and Brawn added his second of the game.
Fareham Heathens knocked over two penalties before Services scored a try crafted by the forwards.
Irvine capped the comfortable win with his second try of the contest to round it off.
