Rui Soares is aiming for Solent Classic glory as some of the world's best players descend on Lee-on-the-Solent Tennis, Squash & Fitness Club this weekend.

A first prize of 4,000 euros is up for grabs in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) Satellite event, which starts on Friday and climaxes on Sunday.

Portuguese number one Soares, who was defeated by Ben Coleman in the 2015 and 2017 finals, is hoping to make it third-time lucky.

He heads the 32-strong men's draw, which also features former world number 48 Oli Pett.

Millie Tomlinson is one of the leading contenders for the women's title, which carries a prize of 1,000 euros.

The world number 24 is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Kace Bartley, who clinched the crown 12 months ago.

The finals of the tournament will take place from 2pm on Sunday.
