Sir Ben Ainslie: We want to achieve something Britain can be proud of

Sir Ben Ainslie believes home glory this weekend can boost the bid to bring the America's Cup back to Portsmouth.

The Land Rover BAR skipper is banking on a great atmosphere for the Louis Vuitton World Series races on Saturday and Sunday.

His long-term target is to lift the trophy and make the whole of Great Britain can be proud.

He said: ‘This team is very much about trying to win the cup for Britain, being best of British, and bring it back here to Portsmouth and the Solent area.

‘So we are really trying to have a positive affect on the local community and we hope and believe they are cheering us on.

‘We saw that atmosphere last year and to get that emotion behind the home team again this year would be massive.’
