daniel compton is leading the way in the race for Cuestars South of England Under-21 Bronze Tour success.
The Copnor ace reached the final of the third of eight legs at the Greenbaize club in Bournemouth.
That came after he won the first leg and his consistently excellent results have propelled him to the top of the tree.
Compton won group A to book his quarter-final place in Bournemouth.
He then booked a clash with his Copnor Cuestars team-mate Jamie Wilson, nine, in the last four.
Talented Wilson, who fired the top break of 29, was gunning to reach his first final but Compton held sway as he recorded a 2-0 success.
In the final Compton went down 2-0 to Basingstoke potter Mickey Joyce.
Stoke Snooker Club’s Joe Kitchen was also celebrating as he made it a trio of local lads in the final four.
The 12-year-old Gosport club cueist reached the semi-finals for the first time.
Kitchen made his Cuestars debut only in October in Salisbury.
He had previously managed just one win from seven group matches.
But he’s learning fast and beat leg-two winner Connor Flanagan 2-1 in the last eight before losing 2-0 to eventual-winner Joyce.
Meanwhile on the Silver Tour, Stoke SC duo James Budd and Karl Eggar each reached the last eight after getting through their groups.
The fourth of the eight legs is in Swindon, on Sunday, January 6.
