Craneswater A stretched their lead at the top of Portsmouth Billiards League division one with a 6-1 victory over Copnor C.

Andy Boulton led by example, beating Phil Leddington and this was backed up by a good team performance from Rob Kirby, Pedro Ferguson, Colin Rowe and Steve Cole.

The only highlight for Copnor C was a 64 break from Steve Lawrence in his win against Tony Hansford.

Copnor A kept up their challenge by whitewashing Portchester 7-0.

Jon Sunderland made a break of 40 to secure a dramatic victory as he came back from 60 behind.

Team-mate Scott Compton made breaks of 40 and 37 to win his match.

Cowplain continued their good season with a 5-2 victory over Craneswater R.

For Cowplain, Gary Curtis paved the way with a 30 break to win his match by a slim margin.

And Roy Steere won his match by the slenderest of margins.

There were also wins for Will Garrett and Pete Gorvin.

Andy White made a 39 break for Craneswater.

And the win was duplicated by Andy Carter, who won by more than 50.

Copnor F won a close contest against Portchester X 4-3.

Portchester captain Jason Tame sealed victory and Charlie Cripps and Matt James also won.

For Copnor, Rob Derry 
Snr won his match, making a 39 break and the other matches were close.

But Gary Green and Dave Ellis both won their matches and just about managed to get their team over the winning line.

Craneswater Z enjoyed a comprehensive 6-1 win over Leigh Park.

Mark Turner played well to give the Z team a good start, Simon Petrie just pipped Neville Moyle by nine, and Mark Jones and Nigel Ward also won.

Arthur Newland won his match by 16 against Richie Burnett Snr.

The only good point for Leigh Park was that over-50s champion Peter Ferguson beat Ian Carter.

In the other match, Copnor B crushed Top Spot 5-2, with John Wyatt winning his match by a margin of 50.
