ONE of the founder members of the Waterlooville Sports Bar Junior Snooker League has won his round-robin group for the first time.

Billy Reid was delighted to gain maximum points after edging Charlie Aldrich in a must-win final match.

The 13-year-old remains in 12th place but he is only seven points adrift of fourth.

League-leader Jamie Wilson, 13, who compiled a 62 break in the Open Series at Chandler’s Ford SC four days previously, won the top group.

Title-contender Samuel Laxton won in the second group.

World Snooker coach Tim Dunkley runs sessions for under-19s, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, every Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Gosport’s Brett Wallace missed out on qualifying for the knockout by one frame in the seventh leg of the Cuestars South of England Under-21 Silver Tour hosted and sponsored by Fareham Snooker Club.
