Kyle Kirkland produced a brilliant display to finish top of the BAGCAT ratings at the Peter Bull Open Meet.

The 10-year-old’s Locks Heath team-mate Shannon Lamb, 11, was also in stunning form at the gala last month.

Her performances saw her finish in second spot in the standings as the team placed fifth out of 11 overall.

Kirkland and Lamb, who also clocked base county times in the 200m breaststroke and 200m freestyle respectively, were not the only Locks Heath talents making a splash along the coast.

Ten members of the squad managed to gain top-10 spaces overall in the two-day competition.

Nine-year-olds Scott Hutin and Mia Day were fourth and seventh respectively.

Joshua Beaudro and Thomas Larby, both 10, were seventh and ninth in their age group – while Everlyn Hall and May Fletcher shone.

James Hall was the pick of Locks Heath’s 11-year-old boys as Lamb led the charge in the girls’ section.

Meanwhile, 13-year-old Jess Larby was second at her age group, where Shona McGrath was also impressive.

Joe Ford and Freddy Ford competed in their first full development meet, with the former grabbing a medal for 13th position in the 11-year-old boys’ category.

Thomas and Jess Larby, Kirkland, Lamb, Hutin, Evelyn and James Hall, Beaudro, McGrath, Joe and Freddy Ford, Harrison Kennedy, Fletcher, Sophie Lee, Day and Hannah Roberts all managed to clock one or more personal bests at the meeting, too.
