Second-placed Waterlooville A earned a 7-5 win against Bellair.

Paul Jagger gave the Havant men an early lead before Danny Auld, with breaks of 45 and 33, and Nigel Ward, with a 41, did their work.

Jamie Wilson ran in a 50 break to draw with Steve Whitney.

Craneswater R broke their duck with an emphatic 9-3 over Cowplain Z.

Dave Rees gave the visitors the lead but the hosts took charge thanks to Grant Vernon, Martin Richardson, Liam Melia and Mark Donnelly.

Emsworth moved closer in third with an 8-4 at home to Leigh Park A.

Pete Ferguson ran in 60 break, adding to a double from Bill Parsons but it didn’t upset the home side.

Hugh Pollard made a 35, and Greg Harding, Tommy O’Neil and Nick Fegan soon turned it around to keep Chris Hardyman happy.

Mark Kingswell and Andy Macey featured as Portchester X won 8-4 against Craneswater Z.

Post Office proved their class in division two with a 10-2 win against Copnor Excels.

Matt Paffett, Jamie Farrow, Kevin Harding and Andy White were not tested.

Copnor D skip Dave Glover ran in a 39 to inspire team-mates Steve Green and Lee Rendle.

Pompey Royals gave a good account of themselves as Paul Tinsley and Paul Chivers cut the score to 7-5.

Derek Foster, with a 33, and Stacey Wearn were on target for Copnor E as they beat Emsworth Originals 7-5.

John Morrison kept it close and Paul Merrett hit a 36.

Craneswater Q lost 7-5 at Cowplain Z. Paul Lees was the only scorer.

Waterlooville C got the better of their Allstars by 7-5.

Mark Lloyd was on form for the losers with breaks of 67, 41 and 31.

Colin Norton also returned with a double.
