Top 40 for Moxham at Lee

She has completed the seafront parkrun 45 times and crossed the line 12th overall on Saturday.

The talented Gosport athlete recorded an excellent time of 19min 03sec – only just outside her personal best of 18.55.

Evesham Vale’s Tamsin Bowden was second lady to finish with a time of 20.08 and third was Arabella Pearce in 22.43.

This week there were 383 runners, with 51 first timers to the Marine Parade East course.

It was a good day for those chasing new personal bests, with 90 of the runners setting new marks.

Stubbington Green Runners led the way at the front with Lewis Banner first in a time of 16min 46sec.

It was his ninth first place in 12 appearances at Lee parkrun.

Chris Brobin crossed the line second with a time of 16.59.

Next was Rob Arkell as he finished in 17.09 to complete the Stubbington top three.

City of Portsmouth’s Callum Crook finished fifth with a time of 18.14 and his club-mate Josh Goldfinch ran 18.58 as he was 10th on his parkrun debut.

The City duo are both in the junior 11-to-14 age category.

Ryde Harriers’ Andrew McEwan, veteran 55-59 age category, set a new personal best of 18.43 as he finished ninth and achieved the highest age-grade score of the week with 82.10 per cent.

Graham Wright leads the men’s annual points competition at Lee this year with 1,316.

The female points leader is Amie Morgan with 1,446.

Lee parkrun takes place at Marine Parade East, Lee-on-the-Solent, PO13 9LB.

Meanwhile at Fareham parkrun, Alison Lawrence completed her 50th parkrun when she finished the 5k at Cams Hall Estate.

In total 168 runners took part on Saturday, along with lots of supportive volunteers.

City of Portsmouth athlete Lachlan Wellington, junior 15-to-17 category, finished first with a time of 16.39.

It was a City double on Saturday with Eleanor Purdue, junior 15-to-17 age group, finishing first female.

She recorded a new personal best of 21.48.

Second overall on Saturday was Fareham’s Peter Abrahams who set a new personal best of 17.53.

Chichester’s Charlie Benson, who is in the junior 15-17 age group, also set a new personal best of 18.52 to finish fourth.

All runners should take a token when they finish to get it scanned before handing it back to the volunteers.

The parkrun takes place every Saturday at Cams Hall Estate, Cams Hill, Fareham (9am).
