Waterlooville Sports Bar talent cashes in at MIUS Cup

And the 14-year-old, from Havant, pocketed £60 for his efforts.

Wilson finished runner-up in his eight-man group with five victories.

He then produced an 85 clearance to wrap up a 4-1 win over Welsh rival Alfie Davies in the last 16.

That was Wilson's highest break of the four-day event at the South West Snooker Academy.

He took a 2-1 lead against Jackson Page in his last-eight encounter.

However, the Welsh talent roared back to take the match 4-2.

Page then went on to claim the title in the event, which attracted 32 entries from five countries.

Meanwhile, 10-year-old Owen Jenkins took the honours in the top group of the Monday Junior League at Waterlooville Sports Bar.

Jenkins and Tom Shuttle were the group winners on the night.

However, breaks of 23 and 22 helped former champion Zak Truscott maintain a five-point lead at the top of division one.

Harry Wilson rolled in a 22.

Ryan Kneller and Tyler Mack are locked together at the summit of division two.

Wilson recorded the day's highest break of 86 '“ and enjoyed another visit of 58 '“ as he won the top group in the Wednesday Junior League.

Thomas Sharp, Mack and Jenkins also claimed pool victories as the challenge for honours in season five gathered pace.

Truscott leads Dean Russell by one frame at the top of division one.

Samuel Laxton, who chalked up breaks of 31 and 30, is just one point further back in third.

Truscott (22), Jenkins (22) and Sharp (17) all weighed in with impressive visits during the course of the Wednesday action

World Snooker coach Tim Dunkley runs snooker sessions for under-19s every Monday and Wednesday at the Waterlooville Sports Bar.

The sessions at the Aston Road venue run from 4.30pm to 6.30pm both days.

Junior pool sessions are also available. These take place every Thursday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
