Butserfest, which takes place at Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield, has grown from a single stage to a multi-stage event that attracts some of the best names from the UK’s rock and alternative scene.

The organisers have announced the first names to be playing at this year’s event on Saturday, September 10. They include its first European act, French hardcore pop punkers Chunk! No Captain Chunk, new grave rockers Fearless Vampire Killers and Ashestoangels.

Also playing will be Portsmouth’s Seething Akira, who were runners-up for best band at this year’s WOW247 Awards, last year’s Introducing Stage winners FlashFires from Basingstoke and in-demand Southampton punks Creeper.

Other acts announced so far include WSTR, Crooks, Casey, Blood Youth, Tigress, and Faultlines.

Butserfest team leader Bob Coleman, said: ‘The top secret headliners for 2016 are global names that are going to blow your minds but you will have to watch this space until the end of May when they are announced.

‘It’s not all about the headliners though. Butserfest showcases the very best in music and will have three stages, each one focusing on a different genre, showcasing established bands and introducing up and coming acts.’
