The Mayfield Records’ House Band, are as the name suggests, the crack team of musicians operating out of the Drayton-based studio.

And they’re promising a fun-packed night as they release Lucky Soul, featuring the tracks they’ve worked on over the past year.

Studio and band founder Dominic Elton explains: ‘Mayfield comprises a number of elements – the recording studio, the label and video production – and the house band is part of that, which is a collective of local musicians and artists.

‘A lot of the songs have already been released as singles, so this is a compilation of the house band’s body of work over the past year. It’s very much about the label and what we’re doing.’

Dominic co-wrote many of the songs, and plays keys on the album.

‘It’s a bit like a Motown model really, so we are putting music out that we’ve played on, alongside all of the other artists we produce at Mayfield.’

As well as a full band including a horn section, the night will feature five vocalists: Amba Tremain, Marlene Hill, Chloe Josephine, Mary Red and Decosta Boyce.

Decosta will also play his own acoustic set in support, plus there will be a DJ set from Andy Lewis.

Tickets cost £5, including a free copy of the CD, and a glass of fizz on arrival.
