That is what happened to Vickie Rowe (née Copeland), 28, from Priddy’s Hard, Gosport, before she got married to husband Chris, 26.

Vickie, a manager of a travel agency, met Chris, a dry liner who fits plaster boards, in October 2010 at a Gosport night club.

The couple’s relationship blossomed as they became engaged in April 2014 in Benidorm.

Vickie says Chris knew about the engagement plans ‘a few months in advance’ as he told her friends he planned to marry her.

What followed was an unexpected romantic surprise.

She says: ‘Chris proposed to me on the beach, while my friends looked over and drew our names in the sand.’

When asked how the Reliant Robin incident happened, Vickie says: ‘My dad, Gerald Bicknell, passed away so my best friend Aaron gave me away.

‘Only Fools and Horses was my Dad’s and is Chris’s favourite TV show.

‘Some of Chris’s friends from his stag do in Prague booked the Trotter’s Independent Trading Company van to take us to the wedding.’

The stag do consisted of Chris’s brothers Daniel and Lewis, his cousin Simon, and his best friend Matt.

The rest of the stags were Chris’s friends Alex, Ian, Scott, Lloyd, Louis, and Chris’s Dad Steve.

‘It was a nice surprise and it was good to incorporate something in my dad’s memory,’ says Vickie.

Vickie says when she walked down the aisle, she felt slightly nervous.

‘I thought I would be the centre of attention.

‘I was thinking, “is everyone going to like my dress?”

‘Having Aaron there made me feel relaxed, he looked after me.’

Vickie adds that the couple went to Mexico for their honeymoon because there are ‘some perks of working at a travel agency!’

Finally, Vickie says the secret ingredient to a special relationship is finding the perfect soul mate.

‘We’re best friends so that’s a good thing.

‘We like to travel to different countries and go on lots of nice holidays together.

‘Now we’re happily married, we can concentrate on building our new home.’
