REVIEW: Jamie T at the Guildhall, Portsmouth

Jamie T performed magically on his Trick Tour, pulling off a variety of different songs in a way that only he could.

Kicking off with Power Over Men, Jamie got the exuberant crowd jumping up and down and the drinks flying all over those standing.

The mosh pit music was powerful as the crowd became increasingly energetic, if not frenetic.

But Jamie gave them some down time with a stunning solo version of The Prophet.

However, the energy returned and hit a peak after he played If You Got The Money and 368 back-to-back.

Crowd-surfers toyed with security throughout the set but this didn’t affect Jamie, and his band once again let him do his own thing when he serenaded the crowd with Sign of The Times.

After the singer gave a perfect version of Tinfoil Boy, most would have been happy if the set had ended there – but no – Jamie stepped up his game with Sticks ‘N’ Stones to finish the 90-minute slot.

It was at this point that fans were screaming for more and Jamie didn’t dissapoint with two final outstanding performances of Back In Ihe Game and Zombie, to end a gig which many described as mental and unbelievable.
