Lewis Watson kicked off his UK tour at the Wedgewood Rooms with a set that featured many songs from his long-awaited new album, Midnight.

With Londoners Slowlights supporting, the crowd were instantly in the mood and not disappointed with the rest of the evening.

Lewis’ cheeky Oxford character came across straight away as he plugged Midnight, which is due to drop on Friday. Halfway through the night he went solo for a few songs, but once the band were back on stage, the tempo of the set lifted and the fans were singing along.

Before the last song, Lewis grabbed a picture with the crowd, asking them to go ‘buck wild’ as his mates would be impressed, and bringing out the last laugh in an evening of constant interaction.

After dropping out of the limelight, it would not surprise me if this album propels Lewis back into the charts.
