Win a family ticket for Shakespeare Untold at New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth

The shows are aimed at different audiences and ages to help make Shakespeare accessible to everyone.

The events start on Sunday, May 8, with Shakespeare Untold, a family-friendly double bill of plays from London’s world-renowned venue, Shakespeare’s Globe.

The critically-acclaimed show offers an alternative twist to two Shakespearean classics, retelling the stories you know from the characters you don’t.

In Romeo Untold, the story of star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet is retold through the eyes of the Capulet Ball’s party planner.

After the interval, Titus Untold retells Shakespeare’s goriest tragedy, Titus Andronicus, as seen from the kitchen of Titus’s piemaker.

These shows premiered to great critical and popular acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe, and are now touring internationally.

This is followed by the Ballet Cymru’s performance of Romeo and Juliet on May 26. The award-winning company will present an extraordinary adaptation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece complete with intense fighting, passionate duets, dramatic choreography, exquisite costumes and extraordinary video projections.

Finally, on July 13, The Globe on Tour will return to perform their riotous new production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Led by a joyful ensemble of players, audiences will be entertained with songs, romance and chaos, as they hurl Shakespeare’s anarchic comedy into the 21st century.
