Youngsters need help to get to dance finals

YOUNG street dancers from Portsmouth have called for support so that they can take on the world's best.

About 30 members aged six to 14 from JoJo’s Street Dance in Southsea have qualified for the UDO Worlds X Street Dance Championships, to take place in Glasgow in August.

But parent Holly Chalton, from Gosport, said they needed to raise money to be able to send them up there.

Ms Chalton said: ‘We’re hoping there might be someone out there or a business that might be willing to sponsor us, or someone who might have an idea about how we can fundraise the money ourselves.

‘They have qualified in a team section and we’ve also got kids who have qualified as soloists and in duos as well.

‘They were over the moon when they found out that they had qualified because they train so hard.’

Anyone who might be able to sponsor the children or help them fundraise is asked to call dance school founder Jo Williams on 07977 417276.
