Bavarian beerfests to eating brains '“ what's happening this weekend?

The big event in Portsmouth this weekend is Oktoberfest which brings a weekend of traditional Bavarian entertainment, food and drink!

It takes place tonight and tomorrow, 6pm until 11pm both nights, on Castle Field in Southsea, with a selection of authentic oompah bands set to perform. Ticket packages cost £20 with more details at eventbrite.co.uk.

Over at Lord John Russell on Albert Road, Southsea, tonight, Thank The Lord It's Rocktoberfest offers an alternative venue for celebrating Oktoberfest as the venue is transformed in to a German oompah bar. Free entry 7pm-2am with more at facebook.com.

Tomorrow from 8am until midnight on Sunday, The Fort Radio will host a 40 hour mega-stream that will feature many guests and a plethora of genres! Catch the line up at facebook.com.

Meanwhile over at The Royal Albert on Albert Road tomorrow, Kitchen Disco host their Halloween Takeover, featuring a hefty amount of disco, funk and house music. Expect lots of fancy dress and dancing on tables from 8pm until 1am with more details at facebook.com.

On Monday, it's lucky 13 as Delight at The Astoria presents its 13th annual gruesome zombie theme night. The club will be transformed in to a slaughterhouse from 10pm until 2am with free prize giveaways for fancy dress and there is even a brain-eating contest!
