BBC One's Flog It to film in Southsea tomorrow

The popular BBC One show is coming to the National Museum of the Royal Navy’s Royal Marines Museum on Eastney Esplanade for its valuation day.

Members of the public are invited to bring along up to three antiques or collectables they might be interested in selling.

Once valued the owner and experts will decide if an item will go up for auction, and if chosen for inclusion in the show it will be included bin an auction a few weeks later.

Everyone who goes along tomorrow will receive a free appraisal of their items, even if they are not chosen for filming.

John Rawlinson, director of visitor experience at The National Museum of the Royal Navy, said: ‘We are really looking forward to welcoming Flog It to the museum.

‘It’s hot on the heels of hosting BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing on HMS M.33 in Portsmouth and a brilliant way to showcase our wonderful museums.’

Paul Martin, presenter of Flog It, said: ‘I’m thrilled to be bringing the show back to Hampshire, I’m really looking forward to filming at the Royal Marines Museum and hope as many people as possible will come along for a free valuation.

‘To help us tell the story of Eastney Barracks I’d be particularly pleased to meet anyone who has items relating to the sites history.’

The BBC will be making four editions of the show featuring The Royal Marines Museum and they will be transmitted within eighteen months of recording. BBC Flog It will be at the Royal Marines Museum between 9.30am and 4.00pm.

The items selected for filming at the valuation day will go under the hammer at Henry Adams Auctioneers in Chichester on Thursday December 1 2016.
