Children in Need 2018: What time does it start? What channel is it on? Who is taking part?Â

Children in Need is back and ready to launch its appeal for another year.Â

While events will be taking place across the area in schools to raise money for charity. 

And the annual Children in Need BBC appeal will also be back '“ with the special airing on TV tonight.

What is Children in Need?

It is a BBC's UK charity raising money for disadvantaged children and young people.

The charity has the mascot Pudsey the Bear.  

With the channel holding an annual telethon in November to raise money. 

The BBC Children in Need special has been held annually since 1980 '“ with Sir Terry Wogan hosting it for 35 years. 

What channel is Children in Need on? 

The special will air on BBC One tonight (November 16) '“ while a separate Junior Mastermind for BBC Children in Need will air on BBC Two.

The BBC Children in Need coverage will start with The One Show's BBC Children in Need Special. 

There will be the BBC Children in Need appeal on BBC One. 

While there will also be Junior Mastermind for BBC Children in Need

What time does it start? 

The One Show special will air on BBC One from 7pm to 7.30pm.

The BBC Children in Need appeal will air from 7.30pm to 10pm on BBC One, then after the news it will resume at 10.40pm and run til 12.30am. 

Junior Mastermind for BBC Children in Need will air from 10pm to 10.40pm on BBC Two. 

Who is taking part? 

The BBC Children in Need Appeal Show is back with an all-star line-up of presenters.

Tess Daly, Graham Norton, Mel Giedroyc, Ade Adepitan, Rochelle and Marvin Humes alongside newest member of the team Rob Beckett.

While Doctor Who actor Jodie Foster will also be taking part, as will Little Mix, Sheridan Smith and Alfie Boe. 

Boyzone will be doing a Strictly Come Dancing themed segment and the cast of Eastenders will be doing a musical number. 

There will also be a preview for the Call the Midwife Christmas special.Â
