CHIPPER: Cooling off with a nice doggy paddle
My goodness, it’s been hot, hot, hot in Dunyelping. So hot in fact that I took a day trip out of the village with my great pal Brindley to cool down at the seaside.
I couldn’t wait to be let off my lead and bound along the pebbles into the nice cold sea at Southsea.

It was so refreshing to swim in the sea – but I got a bit of a surprise when a big lump of bright green seaweed floated past. I admit I let out quite a yelp.
But dogs are naturally good swimmers so I just doggy-paddled off in the other direction.
It’s not good for dogs to be kept indoors during this lovely, hot weather.

When you see us panting it’s our way of trying to cool down – but it really helps if we have a great big glug of water too.
While Brindley was waiting on the shore I dived in and out of the waves, ducking my head right in the water. It really was the best fun.
Have you been down to the seaside recently? Were you brave enough to go in the water? Why not send me a drawing of you and your friends on the beach?
