CHIPPER: Lighting Dunyelping ready for Christmas

Greetings Chipsters everywhere! Last weekend, even though it was freezing outside, I took my feline friend Brindley Milligan to the switch-on of the Christmas lights here at Dunyelping.

Don’t worry, this time we wrapped up nice and warm and toasty. I even had a furry jacket on that my mum gave me as an early Christmas present.

As Brindley and I walked into the town centre we could see a huge crowd of people gathering around the biggest Christmas tree I had ever seen. All around there were burger vans, candy floss stands and even a stall selling hot chocolate with little marshmallows. As you know none of these foods is good for me but luckily mum had packed me a little bag of my favourite doggy treats.

There were loads of people walking around with big illuminated bunny ears and lightsabers. It was beautiful.

Then we saw a huge stage where people were singing and dancing to all my favourite Christmas songs. Suddenly it all went quiet and Brindley and I got excited as everyone started to count down from 10. When we hit zero, all the lights around me lit up. We all whooped and I barked happily. It was so exciting my tail did not stop wagging all night.

When everyone began to leave and as my ears were starting to get cold, we went home to our warm baskets and got cosy in front of the fire.

Have you been to a Christmas light switch on in your town? If you have let me know.
